Fresh to Salt

I''m looking at shipping a boat from Michigan down to Florida.
The boat had new bottom paint last year (VC17) and the paint still looks great, bottom is clean.
Question, how is VC17 for the salt water. If another paint is recommended (other than VC17), should the VC17 be removed prior to it''s application?

I did the same last year (bought boat from MI, moved it to FL) and Pettit''s advice was to remove it. That we did, and put on Trinidad SR, which is holding up pretty well.
