Oceanis 40 - where to mount the liferaft?

Hello,

I have a new Oceanis 40 since June and I placed it in a charter management programme. Next month I will be keeping the boat with me until April and I plan to complete some things that I had not the time to do during the season.

The more important thing is to fix an 8 person ISO 9650-1 liferaft canister in its final destination. Actually it is still inside one of the lockers in the cockpit

I had a stain-steel mounting kit and my idea was to fix it in the plate zone between the cabin entrance and the mast. But the guys from the charter company told me that surface is not strong enough to hold the required screws. In addition I add to dismount some rigging accessories. An alternative is mount it vertically outside the aft transom on the opposite side of the swimming ladder. I do not like this.

Any comments on this? from Oceanis 40 owners as this is very specific?
