New Sensibulb Radio Interference

I had another thread on this, but found something yesterday that I thought warranted a new one.

Installation of a new Sensibulb resulted in complete suppression of my VHF radio when the light was on. Ferrite cores at the fixture pretty much fixed this. But I was suprised to find out yesterday that my FM radio is wiped out despite the cores. This is not an antenna issue. Has anyone else run into this? Any suggestions?

Different light I think, but I have the LED mast head tri color light that cost me over $300 i think.
One night, I recently found that I could not enjoy my football game with the anchor light on.
This drew the attention, twice, the local coast guard boat. THankfully, he understood the importance of NFL football.

Don't worry, be happy. Call Sensibulb and send it back, either for a refund or swap. There's something very wrong in that bulb and it shouldn't be your problem.

Actually, I installed two of them -- they both do it. I had emailed SCAD about it and they said that it seems to occur in certain conditions, and that they have some reports of the bulbs "quieting" FM and that they "are trying to understand the problem in the lab". And they did say they would stand behind them and I could return them.

Before I do that, or get replacements, I wanted to see if this is common with the new units.

I have two bulbs on my boat. One is mounted near the VHF and the antenna cable before it goes up the mast.

I have not experienced any issues.

Nick, are these the new single-LED Sensibulbs, or the old ones?

They are the new ones. I purchased them at the sailboat show in Annapolis this summer.

I've had the same experience as Nick, but with six of the new Sensibulbs in reading lights. No change in noise floor on marine or ham VHF, 40 meters, or on 4, 8, or 12 MHz wefax.

Be nice if SCAD would be forthcoming about the conditions that seem to result in issues.

OK, well, given Nick's and Auspicious's experiences, maybe I just got a bad batch. I'll retrieve them next chance I get and exchange them. I'll report back when I give them a go (could be a couple of weeks at current temps out there).

I have both sets (new and old). I will check them and get back to you.
