foul weather boots

I am looking for boots to keep my feet warm and dry. I have trouble getting a good fit because my legs are so thick. I usually have to slit the tops of muck boots to get them on. I've had the same trouble with sailing boots.

I'm open to ideas that don't cost too much. Yes, I've tried calf high boots and they're still too small for my legs. I'm thinking about diving boots. Any other suggestions?

Mike

For coastal use, consider Gore-tex socks. You can wear with your usual boat shoes, which get wet but your feet remain dry and warm.

I've used neoprene dingy boots (like zip up high tops) for boath coastal sailing and ocean crossings. Not winter rated but generally dry, warm and good traction. Wear with thin wicking socks under wool in cold weather.

Another option might be dinghy boots, which are very low cut...

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

ive been pleased with these guys... dunno if the 'lace up' rather than 'pull on' might be more easily adjustable to your legs?

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat
