Thanks Fst, I saved that also, but what I'm looking for is the shop manual for doing repairs.

What's going on is a buddy has/had a 2 yr old gen, he loaned it out over the summer and when he tried it out the other day it ran rough, at full throttle and had zero power output.

It looks like it was left on deck for quit some time as there is a lot of rust & salt corrosion here and there.

Bottom line is, he gave it to me ( either I took it and fixed it or he was going to the trash with it ) so what I wanta do is see if I can repair this, if it doesn't cost to much, he has his gen back, who knows, could be something simple as jump charging the exciter

But either way it needs a good going over

Try the Honda EU2000i Yahoo group. A mine of information on these popular generators.

Honda gen repair

Sounds like the same thing that was going on with my 2000e generator after sitting in storage all winter last year. There are some good tips on the Yahoo website on carburator cleaning. Seems the 2000 carbs are pretty sensitive to any type of dirt or corrosion clogging the jets. After taking mine apart and cleaning it ran like new (pretty simple procedure).

In the Model window, pull down menu, choose generator, click search, and then go to page 5. You will need the serial number since there is more than one manual. The cost is $17.95.
Helm Incorporated: Product Search Engine
By the way, these folks also have Honda outboard manuals.
