Brown Mystery Goo

Hello!

I seem to have brown gooey liquid coming out from behind two new coats of paint. Below is a pic showing where it's happening.

I painted the interior a month or more ago. Did all the proper prep (I think). Now I've been getting tiny pinholes in the paint where a light brown sticky liquid seeps out. It's only a tiny bit and never even enough to drip.

What the heck is causing it??!

The boat is dry. There aren't any places above the location that could be taking in moisture.

Anyone have this happen before?

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

Do you think that a bad case of crazing on the outside of the boat could allow enough moisture to get into that area? It appears to be the only place above that area the moisture could be getting in.

There was a teak brow that I removed. Behind it was very bad crazing that I tabled to be fixed in the spring. Here's a pic.

Yep, paint doesn't fix wet core. Use a small drill bit and drill a hole near the brown goo (not all the way through!) to see if wet core comes out on the drill bit.
