Atoms Windvane

I have just acquired a boat that has a disassembled Atoms windvane. It appears to have the necessary parts, but I'm not at all sure how the vane is assembled and rigged.

Any information would be appreciated, including original manuals, photos of assembled vane, photos of rigging, etc.

Thanks in advance!

Atoms vane

Hi
I also came into possession of an Atoms windvane with the purchase of a new boat. Mine lies unassembled and I am not even sure where to begin, as I have no documentation or pictures to go from. This summer I plan on starting the process of mounting it to my boat. I'm also considering selling it and buying a new one, perhaps a Monitor. If you'd be interested in buying mine for spare/missing parts, feel free to get in touch with me. Conversely, if you are looking to sell yours, please let me know, as these pieces of equipment are no longer made and parts are difficult to come by.

Btw, I'm currently out cruising, but when I'm not, I reside in Austin. It wouldn't be difficult to meet up, if you're interested.

Thanks

I could scan you a picture of one installed from the Dyjkstra book on windvanes if that would help.

Atoms is very similar to Navik. I have uploaded the manual here: http://windvaneselfsteering.com/download/navik.pdf

If there are still things unclear after this, feel free to drop me a line.

Hi,

I got an ATOMS manual in french with the wind vane that came with my boat. I don't have it mounted but I will give it a go once I get the boat to my current location.

I don't speak french so while waiting for summer I decided to enter the whole text and google translate it. Not sure how much sense it makes. It has some useful images though, I suppose I could get it scanned too. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send it to you!

Regards,
Lars
