I am taking out a Volvo md11c. i wish to re power with somthing around 35hp, and I am very price contions. are there any that yo would say stay away from???

Yanmar comes immediately to mind because my 1979 model still runs like new and almost everyone at my marina has one. Westerbeke is also popular in my marina.

But for price I have been reading good things around the forums about Beta, Vetus and Bukh.

I have had tremendous luck with my Yanmar, 3GM30F. Its rated at about 27hp nominal. Seems to be an excellent "pusher" for my 37'' sloop.

I have a very good friend who is a marine diesel mechanic. He tells me that Yanmar would be his first choice, without a doubt.
