Dive platform for 1986 Catalina 30

I am in the Clearlake Texas area and interested in adding a folding diving platform for offshore scuba diving to my 86 Catalina 30. What is available to purchase or to build myself? Looking for ideas so if you have pictures and further details please send them.

Did you ever find one? I'm interested in adding one to my Starwind 27.

Why would you use a diving platform? They would be big and clumsy and ugly on a small sailboat.

I would instead hang some lines over the side terminated with good dog clips or carabiners. When you return from your dive, shuck your rig, clip it off, climb up the ladder, and then haul up your rig on the line. Same thing can be done with your goodie bags or cameras or whatever. Easy peasy.

I mostly want to sit on it while I dangle my feet in the water while drinking beer.

Well, of course, that's different.

I have done a lot of diving over the years from my Crealock 37 Crazy Fish but never directly enter the water from the big boat. I used a 11 foot roll-up Avon with a 15 HP Mercury 2 stroke as the dive platform.

Anchor or moor the big boat is a safe secure location and then use the inflatable to travel to the dive site, anchor it and then dive from the inflatable.

Regards
Marc

Way I do it as well, or I go from the dink.
