Yanmar sticky throttle (3GM30)

I have a sticky throttle problem. The shift/throttle linkage and cable is fine, but the pivoting throttle arm on the engine seems to corrode inside the housing and freeze up if unused for more than 2 days.

If I disconnect the cable at the throttle arm and work the arm back and forth it eventually frees up and works again like a Swiss watch. Two days later it's frozen hard again if I don't start the engine and move the throttle.

I've tried every kind of lubricant I can think of on the exterior throttle arm to no avail. It appears the problem is inside the engine housing and I'm afraid to disassemble the housing for fear of creating bigger problems.

Ideas??
