CDI module substitution
I have a Suzuki 9.9 long shaft. It has no spark. A new CDI module is around $360 which is more than I paid for the engine. So, I thought why wouldn't a CDI off a lawn mower or other small non-marine engine work? Google found a module for a single cylinder 6 hp engine for under $10.00. Could two of these work? I'm not sure if there is anything else wrong with the engine which is why I'm so reluctant to buy the OEM module. There are no returns on electrical parts. Has anyone tried using a generic CDI module as a replacement?
