Yanmar 2GM20F and Racor 500Fg, Fittings!!

Hi,
wondering if anyone can help me with this. I have a Yanmar 2GM20F with an old Racor 110A filter. The Hoses are 1/4'' ID (from tank, to filter, to engine). The Racor 110A broke (is very old) and I have a new Racor 500FG. Now the problem...I cant find a fitting that will work with the filter (3/4''-16 UNF) and the hose (1/4'' ID). Only thing available is 5/16 ID for the hose (that will fit the filter port), which will be fine, I can change fuel hoses and tank fitting, but what about at the engine? can that fitting be replaced for one that will fit a 5/16 ID hose? is there even a fitting?
Have spent hours online trying to figure this out...no help!
any ideas?
Thanks for any help.

Minnewaska will become famous soon enough
While I would try to replace the fitting on the engine and run the 5/16, I suppose a barbed hose reduction coupler to connect the 1/4 hose off the engine to the 5/16 off the filter would work. Disclaimer.... I'm not sure I like a cut in a fuel line.

Jeanneau 54DS

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Why not go get a 110A and be done with it? Same fittings and same mounting.

Thanks for your responses. Minnewaska I cant find a barb fitting to do that....maybe a lack of search skills....what makes it more intriguing to me is that there are a few posts on the web saying that their 2GM20F uses a 5/16 fuel line!

countdemonet, long story short, I had the 500Fg already (from my previous boat, never got to install it), and prefer this model than the 110A for several reasons...

Makes sence.

I know your frustration. I planned to add a priming bulb between the tank and the Racor but couldn't find the fittings locally.

Maine Sail is just really nice Maine Sail is just really nice Maine Sail is just really nice Maine Sail is just really nice
You just need the Racor 911-08-F4 straight fitting and a standard 1/4" barb X 1/4" NPT male hose barb fitting. Do not use teflon tape to seal the NPT threads use only a diesel safe pipe dope like Hercules Real-Tuff or similar.

To go into the filter you need to use the Racor specific 3/4 X 16 fitting above that comes with the o-ring.

It will be 3/4" X 16 on the Racor side and 1/4" female NPT on the hose barb side.

The fittings with the o rings are standard hydraulic fittings. Most every parts store will have adapters and hose barbs to connect to the hose size you like.
