Thanks, I have taken it over to the Evinrude dealer in Cocoa. I will probably buy one once it is fixed and working as I will need to do maintenance on it. Right now I figured a pro needs to make it right. This particular engine is a 85 according to the model number but it was registered as an 84. It is evidently not easy to work on because you can't get inside of it without taking off the top cover that houses the pull and retractor mechanisms. According to the dealer it gets messed up quite often when people try to get inside.
