1984 Evinrude 4HP dinghy motor

I just came into possession of a 1984 Evinrude 4 HP model number E4BRHCOB and wondering if anyone has a similar motor and might have a copy of the owners manual. I can't even figure out how to take the cowling off the darn thing.

That model number you listed seems to be a 1985 model number. I'm not sure what the difference would be between a 1984 4hp and a 1985 4 hp. I haven't been able to find a manual online for free, but you can buy them online without a problem. You can also go to sites such as Crowley Marine's and view exploded parts diagrams online for free, I'm not sure if that is enough info.

I have a 1967 that I found a manual for on eBay. They may have one for your engine.

Thanks, I have taken it over to the Evinrude dealer in Cocoa. I will probably buy one once it is fixed and working as I will need to do maintenance on it. Right now I figured a pro needs to make it right. This particular engine is a 85 according to the model number but it was registered as an 84. It is evidently not easy to work on because you can't get inside of it without taking off the top cover that houses the pull and retractor mechanisms. According to the dealer it gets messed up quite often when people try to get inside.
