Mainsail Furling/Reefing Systems

I too got very tired of covering and uncovering the main, and flaking it every time we went sailing so it would last longer. Last summer we broke down and purchased a ProFurl boom furling system and my only question is why did I wait so long. We use a full batten mainsail, and on our boat the boom length was such that we did not need to loose any sail area to convert to the new boom, in fact switching to full battens ment a slight increase in area. And reefing has never been safer or easier, and shaking out a reef is now a one person task. We bought our system from www.rigginonly.com because their prices were the best I could find at the time. I feel the safety features may even outweigh the convience, a few of my racing budies have commented that my wife and I now have an unfair advantage over their six man crew...
