Friction Winch

Does anyone have a source for a (hopefully) reasonably priced, small friction winch? The winch to raise/lower the CB on my O'Day Mariner is shot and a small friction winch should prove to be a good replacement Any and all help is appreciated.

Go down to your nearest boating/camping/fishing store and buy the smallest, cheapest single-speed trailer winch you can find.

That's all you need.

Good solution, but, not as handy as a friction winch. For the complete overkill solution:

Catalina Direct: Keel Winch with Handle

Or what about just a block and tackle?

Check out these: brake winch from Northern Tool + Equipment
The 1200lb model is the one used for replacement on most older Macgregor/Venture swing keel boats. The 800lb unit will probably work fine on your boat. I use that one for my mast raising system.
