Any tips on cleaning diesel smoke stains off deck?

I checked the "search" bar on this question and didn't come up with anything, so I'llpost it:

My boat is lived aboard all year long, excepting a few weeks here or there when I go snowboarding or climbing. I enjoy living aboard during winter, as I sail pretty much all winter long....but I enjoy it even more when there is a foot or two of snow on the cabin top...as it adds to the insulation and coziness.

But here's the rub: My heat comes from a big Hi-Seas diesel heater with a stove pipe through the cabin roof and a charlie noble. I love snow, but snow and diesel smoke and soot make terrible companions. The heater doesn't put out a lot of soot, but enough to make a mess to clean-up in the spring. The snow mixed with soot makes it even worse.

So every spring I have these soot stains all over the cabin top and deck to clean up.

ANY TIPS on some nifty, quick, tried and true ways to clean off diesel soot from deck and cabin house paint??? Like vinegar or grapefruit juice or some such??? I've always used just dish soap...it works, but takes so long that I dread it every spring. Looking for some neat trick.

black smoke? Hmmmm combustion temps may be low. Simple green removes the soot off the transom of my boat. Wax after seems to help it get less embedded also.
