Sheaves for lead blocks?

Looking for sheaves for these old lead blocks. Any idea who made them or where to get new sheaves?

Thanks,

Take a look at Rig-Rite Inc. - Masts, Booms, Spars, Rigging, and Hardware for Sailboats

Rig Rite says,

"Sorry, no. Haven't seen those before. "

What now?

Looks like you'll just have to pull the pins to get the old sheaves off and see what you can find that matches. Doing it online or via a catalogue may work if you can find things that seem to match exactly. Otherwise, it means a trip to the Marine Harware emporium closest to you. Sheaves should be less expensive than replacing the whole car unit, in any case.

C'mon folks, Over 1500 of these boats were built. Nobody even recognizes the logo on the hardware?

Probably because the manufacturer of those lead blocks went under long ago and/or the boat was manufactured in Europe almost 40 years ago.

Boat builders world wide tend to put out specs to bidders and hardware can change between two otherwise identical boats. Those lead blocks could have been used on only 50 of that 1500.

Also, can you be certain that they are OEM?

No way! Those cars are super-retro-cool! I like them! If you fail to find sheaves, you could always make some. Anyone with a mini-lathe should be able to turn them from larger sheaves in less than a half hour.
