What Kind of Stove is This?

Below is a picture of the three burner propane stove and oven came with our 1979 Catalina-30 when we bought her three years ago. I have no idea if it is original to the boat. I would like to find some parts for it, but I can't seem to find any kind of manufacturer's plate or any other sort of make or model identifier on it. Hopefully someone here will recognize it and can tell me what it is.

The problem is that it heats up to temperature and shuts the flame off, but it doesn't re-light the flame as the oven temp falls. Bad themocoulpe or gas regulator valve, I assume. If anyone has had experience with this, I'd be very happy to hear about it. Thanks!

I have the same stove in my Gulfstar 50 from 1978. So, probably the original stove. I never checked but I will look for branding on it next time I'm on the boat.

I had a similar no-name brand unit. I went to a boat place here in Seattle that specialized in heating and cooking systems and they were able to provide generic parts to rebuild it. Alteratively I could have ad them do it.

Catalina has had a very long relationship with Seaward Products. My guess is it is an ancient Seaward Princess three burner range. Go to their website to see if you can find a manual or parts list. This unit is pretty ancient and you ought to seriously consider buying a new model for peace of mind as well as to take advantage of the new features like built in sparker ignition, sealed burners, better grates etc.

Call Catalina, tell them your hull number and they can tell you.

I would just take the suspect part to a local gas fitter or appliance repairman, stove parts are pretty generic and there is no reason to pay marine prices. Good luck.

Thanks to all for responding. I will likely remove the parts in question and visit a local appliance repair facility, of which there are many nearby.

As I am pretty ancient myself, GeorgeB's observations lead me to an entirely new consideration, that is: can stove logic be applied elsewhere? For example, to spouses? If so, am I about to be replaced for peace of mind or newer features? I guess there is some peace of mind in knowing that a newer spouse is less likely to die in the process of baking cookies. While I'm not aware of any new features to be gained by upgrading to a newer model spouse, I suppose that some of the standard stuff might be in a little better, ahem... shape.
