Angled Shims for deck hardware?
I need to install a Navpod Companionway instrument pod. Its stainless-tube stanchion crosses over the cabin hatch, and is held up by left and right footing plates with four screw holes each. The footing plates are rigid and level -- they have no ability to "flex" to match the slope of a deck.
Since the feet are level and the decks they mount to are not, I will probably need some shims -- or some other way of bedding the feet. I can't just bolt them because one edge of each foot plate will bite into the deck while the other edge will not.
Suggestions?
