cw manual bilge pump, bike pump type

I have just bought an older boat with a bronze bike pump style manual bilge pump. It doesn't seem to draw much water. I opened the thing up and poured water into it to prime it, but , not much better results. The hose is not clogged cause the water just drained quickly into the bilge. Do i need to rebuild the thing, new gasket, or what?

It is a crittenden wilcox manual pump

If the water drained out of the pump barrel into the bilge, the pump likely needs the piston seal and bottom flapper replacing. Read all about it here

It will likely polish up really nicely after you get it working...
