Shore Power
Ok, I am looking at a slip with a 30 amp shore power connection. Problem is, my boat don't have a shore power connection and I will need to use some shore power this summer. I am trying to figure out what I need here to set one up. Honestly I don't know anything about shore power, the slip I am at now don't have any connections. Also when I docked at the harbor last summer, they had your basic 110v outlets there where you can just run an outdoor extension cord if needed. The marina has actual shore power connections. So in my situation, what would I need to buy for my boat to install it? I don't have major requirements like outlets all in my boat with several electrics plugged in. At most while at the marina, I would run a small portable ac and small fridge. Other things I would run off and on would be a single burner electric stove, my laptop, a fan and few lights. I do realize many boats have actual 110v outlets throughout that are connected up to a shore power inlet, plug it in and you get power. I don't have any of that but later on I am considering putting in one or two 110v outlets. Eventually I would actually like to setup a whole new electrical system. My boat has a very simple and abstract electrical setup. Maybe someone here can give me an idea where to start at to get some shore power going for now? Oh sorry I just realized I posted this in the wrong forum, meant to put it in electric systems.
