Adding couple more layers of varnish

The exterior teak was done 3 years ago with 8 layers of Pettit 1015, and looks good still.

I'd like to add a couple more layers. To prepare the surface, can I just lightly sand? I'm worried about getting a good adherance without peeling.

There is probably a better way. But yes, just lightly sand with a very fine grit sandpaper. Wipe the area thoroughly and apply another coat of varnish.

yes. just sand with 320g and put another 2 coats on there. And lightly sand between coats. This is what I am doing right now... keep ahead of it.

badger hair china bristle brush applies the best finish. I used foam brushes and I think the ease of clean up does not out weigh the results w/ badger hair
