Continuous Furler line

What type of 8 mm line will make a smooth end to end splice that can be used on a continuous furler?

New England Sta-Set is a perfectly acceptable and affordable line that accepts a constant diameter end to end splice well.

And Knothead has a nice set of videos on Youtube that show how to do that splice. Had to refer to them again recently when shortening my continuous furling line.

Look here YouTube - end to end splice part one for the video by Knothead. It's done very well but when I use it I usually have to pause it several times and go and do the step just explained and then go back.
