Depth Transducer Question

I want to make sure that I''m getting the best transducer and sounder for my Oday 25. Can someone please tell me if a "shoot thru hull" transducer is the same as a "glue in hull"? Also, is an "in-hull" transducer actually mounted thru the hull? I am trying to decide between the "Uniden" and "Norcross" models. Both seem to be about the same. This is very confusing. Any suggestions before I purchase? Thanks.....Gary
