Blue Specks On My Deck - How to Clean

Hi all,

Had an interesting thing happen this weekend. We were anchored in broad creek off the magothy river in the Chesapeake Bay. When I got up in the morning there were blue speckles on my deck. They are all in the non skid and on most of the horizontal surfaces.

I had this happen last 4th of July in the same spot and thought it was due to local fireworks. No fireworks this weekend. Does anyone have an idea what these are? And any idea how to clean them? I did a lot of scrubbing on sunday and most of them are not coming off.

Are they blue or green? They appeared overnight? Here we get a lot of green specks from Spider Poop. Real mess. I wonder if it isn't the same thing?

Pollen? Maybe vim and a scotchbright pad and a little ol' elbow grease. Good luck.

They were blue and they appeared overnight. looks like the wind distributed them based on where they ended up on the deck

Do they spray a lot of pesticides around there?

I was down at my boat this weekend and a plane was buzzing around nearby. I stopped to look and saw it had the wing mounted hoses for spraying.

Vim us a brand name, it's a white all purpose all surface cream cleanser with a mild abrasive. It's pretty mild so it requires a bit of work on stubborn stuff but it's cheap and won't harm anything.

Okay. Let me grab some vim as well. That looks like it is good to have on board regardless!
