Need info about Evelyn 32

Hi All...

I am wondering if anyone knows what type of spreaders an Evelyn 32 uses? The mast is a Kenyon 3656 section. I am wondering is the spreaders are SP3?

A friend of mine has one and actively races it. I've sailed against 2 different 32's and a very rare 30. Very fast boats. I will ask him tomorrow evening. If he doesn't know the owner of the 30 has a rigging company and will know for sure. You may even want to call him. Chuck Poindexter at Sound Rigging in Essex CT. My dad was an engineer at Kenyon and may also know.

The reason I ask is because I ran accorss an Evelyn 32 mast with the upper spreaders, a welded on mast head (meaning a tapered mast), both spreader bars and the part of the masthead that shields the halyards. I did a lot of math, spoke with some riggers, and I believe I can retrofit this mast on to my Scampi 30.

But, I can only do it if I can find the parts I need, which in this case means the lower set of spreaders, the mast step and spreader tips. OIther things like toggles, shrouds and such I can get anywhere. RigRite has the mast step and SP3 spreaders, but as I don't have the mast yet I am not sure if the spreaders really are SP3 (although its very likely).

Oh, I did speak with Chuck, he said to call him back in June. I may.

So that's why I'm curious. I also wish i had bought an Evelyn 32 instead of a Scampi!
