Using Petitt Vivid as a bootstripe ?

I have a red International paint at the moment and it is quickly covered in black algae which is hard to clean off. I am in the Eastern Caribbean.

Has anyone tried using Petitt Vivid A/F as a bootstripe. If so how did it do?

We use the white underwater and its pretty soft stuff

Any copper A/F paint used above the water line is going to turn funny colors. Whats worse though, black algae or oxidized copper?

If your boot stripe is constantly growing stuff then maybe you need to raise your waterline? Agree that dry antifouling will quickly go just as unsightly as your current stripe - can you keep it clean with a bit of a swim with a brush?

from personal experiance w/ Vivid, above the waterline white will change color and unless your willing to dive on the boat weekly it's not going to stay white. Ablatives work on powerboats but not so much on sailboats.
We have just stripped our bottom and gone to a hard paint because of new eco restrictions and me wanting to scrub the bottom in our slip.

I was planning on using red and other Vivid users seem to suggest it holds it s colour.

Just wondered how it behaves as a topping strip.
