Rigging Selection for East Coast 31

Planning on replacing all the old Canon Hardward on my East Coast 31ft.

Im not an experienced sailor, so Im looking for advice on the type of tracks, cars, and hardware that I should be using. Ronstan, Harkken or other brand?

I'd like to have the versatility of both racing and cruising... but nothing too extreme.

Couple of pics included of what's on it already.

Harken, Schaefer, and Ronstan all make good stuff. Garhauer also makes good gear and tends to be little less expensive. While you are doing this, think about upgrading things to make sail handling and trim easier. An experienced sailor, especially one that races a bit, should be able to give you some suggestions.

I second Garhauer. Customer service is fantastic. Bought a 4-1 Stainless Boom Vang and 2 genoa cars for the price of one boom vang from the other mentioned vendors.

I believe this boat to be Scaramouche. I've got an EastCoast 31 that was moored near her in Pittwater. Happy to compare notes.

Scaramouch it is! I think I remember your EC31 that was on the swing not that far away from where the 'mouch' was. Working my way through an extensive re-fit of the entire yacht. Lots completed so far!

Would love to chat with you if at all possible, as I have lots of questions.

The across the companion traveler was one of the first things we replaced on my O30. Garhaurer was more then happy to make it 5.5 ft long even though "stock" is only 5 ft or less.
the lines are long enough to reach behind the wheel so it's very easy to adjust and the double blocks really decrease the effort.

Hi Denise,
Can you tell me how much your Oday 30 displaces ?
I'm interested in the Garhaurer mainsheet blocks for my old 80's half tonner that displaces about 9,500 lbs (4,310kg)
I had not seen these fittings before here in Australia, but they look to be quite good.

Thanks,
Brett
