Seafrost 134a

Hi - we're looking at a boat with a this mechanical fridge. I think it works fine but am wondering if i should assume that we should replace it with an electric setup. Anyone have opiinions on this unit? Appreciate it.

You mean engine driven? I'd replace it yes.

Depends

Engine driven refers can be just fine - it depends on your needs. Seafrost makes good stuff. It depends on what your plans for the boat is. If it is weekends away from the dock, and you are going to run the engine anyways, then it would be fine. If you are cruising long term, then perhaps you won't like having to run it every day.

If the boat has a generator, then Seafrost makes an ad-on unit to run it from 120v. This can also be used at the dock. Maybe the boat already has this?
