Hurth HBW50-3R

Hi All....anyone out there have any suggestions* about a Hurth HBW50-3R** tranny that is acting like I''ve got a line around the shaftwhile going ahead...fine while going astern...have replaced bearings, seals..measured clearances....thanks for anyone''s help...dh

* other than using it for a dingy anchor

Hurth HBW50 seems to be same as ZF5 -
I now urgently need a manual which gives instructions for adjustments, shimming and tolerances when re-assembling my gearbox.
Can anbody help, please?

The thing to check first is that you have the oil or ATF fluid specified for that transmission and that it's been changed within the past couple of years. You might give that a try.
