Fridge temperature indicator replacement

Where can I find a replacement? It has a long sensor wire in the back.

Check out Grainger

Temperature Service Kit, Refrigeration - Pressure Gauge Kits - Pressure and Vacuum Measuring - 4FGG9 : Grainger Industrial Supply

A good plumbing place might have one.

Your dial has freezer temps too..do you need them? fridge/freezer?

A cheap indoor/ outdoor thermometer works well. Get a wired version as the wireless ones have a short battery life in the sensor due to the cold temp in the fridge.

There is a good wireless here that will give you ambient as well as the fridge temp. Batteries apparently last about a year.

There are a number of kitchen thermometers, digital electric that run more than a year on one AAA cell, with yard-long probe wires. They'll typically run from near-zero to several hundred above, so they can be used for freezers, fridges, or ovens. Complete with count up.down timer, and under $10 if you shop around the dollar stores and kitchen suppliers.

it's capillary tube actually, even though it looks like a wire. the "bulb" is filled with a compound that reacts to temp with pressure, like freon, mercury, etc. not sure what it actually is though.

The one I linked to has a sender that stays in the fridge. The readout can be mounted anywhere and shows the fridge temp as well as cabin temp. It also stores both minimum and maximum temps in memory. Both sender and receiver/display use batteries.

I just clip a regular old thermometer on the shelf and can see it every time I open the door. Low tech solution to a low tech problem.
