Stainless and Oxygen or lack of.
OK, this might be slightly off topic but the information may be of value for others when using stainless on boats.
I need to place a fastener (probably a bolt) in wet cement where it will become "permanent" with the end exposed to air for a nut. I first thought of using stainless. After thinking about the need of stainless for oxygen to remain corrosion free, I am now wondering if another choice might be better?
Maybe I'm worrying too much?
edit:
Just talked to a friend that has experience setting bolts in concrete for large signs. They use nickle cadmium bolts because of corrosion resistance.
