searching for a new/used mast for a Morgan 34

C'est la Vie our 1966 Morgan 34 is currently hauled out at Bock Marine, Beaufort, NC. We stepped the mast and discovered some damage where the mast passes through the deck. The damage is caused by chafe/wear. We are now in the process of looking at our options, but are leaning towards replacement rather than repair.

We have contacted Sparcraft US for a quote, but are fearing the price tag.
Does anyone out there know the source of an appropriate used mast out there?Does anyone have any suggestions on sourcing used or new masts?

Here is a link to our website - SV C'est la Vie - I will post some images of the damaged area soon.

Thanks,

Jeff

rigrite.com is a web page that offers spars, mast, etc. I know nothing about them.

Price-wise, I've heard that MetalMast in CT is hard to beat. But transporting a mast from afar is likely to add to your costs considerably. If you can locate a source neaby, all the better.

One fairly near source that comes to mind is Irvington Marina; they used to provide rigs for a major manufacturer of sailboats before it folded some time ago and they still produce extrusions now. Email address is boats@irvmar.com; or call 804 438 5113 and ask for Wylie.
