Fishfinder not working

My fishfinder showed depth just fine on my boat last year. Now, it always says 0.5 ft. Any troubleshooting suggestions?

Did you bed it inside the hull (not thru-hull as with a paddlewheel for knot meter)? If so, the material you bedded it in might have loosened a little from the sole, or the transducer puck may have come loose from the bedding material. If there are any voids, it might not see thru the hull. I've had this problem from time to time on my boat. It's a pain, but it's easy to solve.

I think it is bedded in a pool of epoxy. I'll try poking around, maybe pour some water on it to see if some soaks in.

Anyone know if I could test the transducer wire continuity, maybe it should have a certain resistance?
