Was wondering what everyone thought about the quality and longevity of this product line? They seem to carry a bit of everything and seems to be reasonably priced. I am about to buy some folding 316 stainless D rings for attachement points for my safety tethers and jacklines. I am always looking to save money but want to make sure I am buying a quality product too, especially for safety items. let me know what you think.

I have used a lot of the Seadog products over the years (hinges, and so on) but I thing for a safety related item I would use Wichard, Schaefer, or another major brand.

Non branded/house branded hardware like this should be treated with caution. My Chinese clients will not have any Chinese made hardware on their boats so why do we? Wichard are cast 17-4PH, a high tensile SS subject to stress cracking corrosion so have a use-by date. Niro Petersen - Germany use German 316, a lifetime material. Both these branded products are much stronger than the fastenings holding them down so both are very good. In my country, (NZ) the retail chandleries only stock the cheapest because it is cheapest - maybe that is consistent throughout the world?
