Boat Stands

Any one have any information on which of these is the better deal?

Sail Boat stands for sale by Scaffold Mart at around $120/@ free shipping for 5 or more.

or these:
HOSTAR Marine Transport Systems: Sailboat Stands at around $110 (Painted) or $144/@ galvanized plus shipping

or these:
Sailboat Shoring Stand With Top at around $145 (Defender) plus shipping.

I need at least 7, probably 9 of them so it's kind of a big purchase.

You shouldn't need more than 7.

Agree that 7 should be fine. Three pairs plus one at the bow. Our club stores our boats on stands and most are Brownell (your Defender listing). Well made but pricey. We also have several owners that use Hostars. Made with light angle iron, but they seem to work fine. The Scaffold Mart stands looks like Brownell copies and are a good price for galvanized stands. Suspect they are made in China.

7 is the minimum for a 29' with 4'5" draft boat BUT is marginal on a 35' boat with 7' draft as i put away both every winter

It also depends on how the boat is covered and the wind strength and direction in your area as it blows like stink at 50 knots from the west in my driveway right on my beam

Glad i spurred the count discussion....Serena is a small 38, 10'2" on the beam and 18000lbs of displacement. she's been on 7 for the 12 years I've had someone else manage this for me, so I'm comfortable with that unknowing success and will continue with the same config.

But one more time, anyone know the South Carolina stands first hand? they say they make 'em here and 'hot dip' 'em here too. The price is attractive especially considering free shipping. Any one have any?

thanks all!

I would go with Scaffold Mart stands. Stands are pretty low tech items and all the different ones I see seem to work fine. Shipping is not insignficant. Both Hostar and Defender will give you quotes. I think that will make your decision.
