PortVisors

I've ordered a set of these...

to replace the crappy looking homemade version the previous owner installed on my boat. Right now they're on back order but I should get them very soon (holding my breath...as the rainy season approaches and I've already removed half of the crappy ones). In any case, these are installed using 3M VHB tape

and I like the idea of not having to drill any new holes and my first thought was to run a bead of Sikaflex along the outside edge once installed. But after reading a bit about this tape, I'm having second thoughts. Apparently it sticks so well, it's difficult to remove short of grinding away and although I'm re-bedding the portlights right now, I'm a little concerned about future issues so I'm flirting with bolting them on instead. Any thoughts on this and/or any experience with this tape on gelcoat?
