Outboard Prop

I have a 8ft Achilles air floor dinghy with a 5 HP 2 stroke outboard. It get's up on a plane pretty well with just me but when we have 2 plus the dog it can only plane on totally flat water (with bit of a tail wind). I've already changed from the standard 8" pitch to a 7" pitch prop but have found out that a 6" pitch prop is available. According to the prop calculations my top speed would be reduced to 12 knots from 15 which I'm not to worried about if I can get up on a plane with a bit of a load.

tommays will become famous soon enough
The 6" high thrust prop which i have is really to allow the motor to reach RPM on a displacement hull and while it will move thousands of pounds it will NOT go fast

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat
