Autohelm ST4000+ rattle

I have an Autohelm 4000+ Wheel drive on my boat which generally works great.

However, when the pilot is disengaged (steering manually), under power, it rattles in the most annoying fashion Due to engine vibrations. This can be stopped by slightly lifting up the drive motor. Other than installing a bungy, there has to be away to stop the rattle and any input would be very welcome.

Many thanks in advance.

Matt

maybe your drive belt has broken teeth or te clutch is not tension enough.

Quite likely a roller or two are broken within the drive ring.. btw supporting the drive motor with a zip tie works well... usually the wheel brake shaft is a convenient 'support' for this.

If you routinely remove the wheel for cockpit lounging then securing the drive is a problem.
