You can have them re-chromed. Cost depends on how much pre-polishing you want. Car guys do it all the time. Almost any plating shop can do it. Alternatively I ran a cross an old salt who uses black interlux perfection with a dulling agent to make them look like the anodized aluminum ones. He claims that after several seasons there is no evidence of deterioration.
