Dacron Nylon Polyolefin

traditionally - Running rigging - Anchoring - backup anchoring...

Heck of a difference in price - does prestretch work?? does bigger work? What about extra cranks on the winch? Is price the reason tug boats and fishermen use the polyolefin?

mitiempo will become famous soon enough
Dacron is used for halyards as it stretches very little, less in the more exotic (read expensive) types. For anchoring you want the stretch so nylon is used.
