Zinc on 1968 McGlasson Islander 34
Howdy, I'm new to this forum. I have a 1968 Islander 34. Problem with zinc placement. There is only 5/8-inch clearance between the shaft bearing and the prop, nowhere close to enough space for a collar zinc. The diver could not visually locate any place to attach a zinc, not even on the rudder post.
Is anyone familiar with this question for the McGlasson Islander 34?
The diver DID report that even after a year or more of NOT having any zincs, there is not evidence of electrolysis in the prop or shaft. There is minor pitting, evidently, but according to the diver, he did not view that as resulting from electrolysis.
I am assuming a zinc is needed? But if so, where can it be attached?
