I''m try to slow the progreess of rot I have on some wood on my Ericson 31. Does anyone know where I can get information on the different types of Smith Penetrating Epoxy? I''ve done a Google search but can''t seem to find a company website.
Don''t know "Smith" penetrating epoxy, but:
First you have to remove the effected material...
Then you have to stop the further rot...
Only then, should you consider repairing with a thin (penetrating) epoxy, overcoated with thick epoxy.

It''s been many years since I had to deal with dry rot. First choice is replacement but when that isn''t practical use a product called Git Rot. I believe it is still avaiable. It is an epoxy that soaks into only rotted wood by capilary action and then sets up hard as a rock. It works.
