Can I get WiFi if I use a booster going from the Ches Bay up to New England? Figure 10-15 NM offshore?

highly doubt it. cell service would be only way to get data that far

Verizon 4G transmitters work quite in the chessie, as their service coverage is quite good here. It creates a wireless hotspot onboard. Speed is excellent as long as the signal is good. I'm not sure about further north. Offshore coverage is questionable after more than a few miles offshore, dependent on location relative to the towers. WiFi booster would work at anchor or near marinas, as long as the signal is present.

Even with a mast mounted amplified WiFi antenna you will only get WiFi out to about 2-3 miles and that is going to be 'spotty'.
Surprisingly, with a mast mounted amplified WiFi antenna along close to the 'surf line', internet signals are quite strong and regular and with few 'paid service' nodes and 'dead spots' - from Cape May all the way to Mt. Desert Island.
Delaware Bay - nada because of the extremely sparse population.

antenna example: Bitstorm Bad Boy Xtreme
