Yes, that would be for a standard (no penalty) SPL (Spinnaker pole length) Typically whisker poles would be longer..

Forespar confirmed was an old model telescoping wisker pole and not a reaching strut despite the open hook end. The sheet went on the roller, sail was not directly engaged. they sill suggest not attaching to the clew due to possible impact on the sail shape (twisting). i suspect reason they changed to 2 snap ends was due to sheet disengaging too easily. i'm planning to use a foreguy and topping lift and see how it goes. if disengagement problem can always modify or replace the hook end.

my J length is 14+ so the 7-17 appears to fit my boat.
