Cutlass bearing

This may be a silly question but I''ll ask anyway. I''m going to replace the cutlass bearing on my C&C 30 - it has a tiny bit of movement, rather than wait another year and hope there is no problem, I figured I replace it. But for the life of me I can''t figure out where or how to get a new one. It seems that it is nothing more than a rubber insert. I see lots of discussions on how to remove/install. But I have yet to figure out where to get one.

I suppose I could just ask someone at the yard... but that would be too easy.

Thanks in advance,
Bill

Cutlass bearing

You need to know the size of your existing bearing (Outside diameter, length and shaft size). And then most good chandleries can get you one or get it off the web.

I just saw them in the 2002 Westmarine catalog page 357.

Or you could order direct from one of the many manufacturers like PYI

See if you have a local prop shop around and have them press a new bearing in for you.
