Last year I had the yard take my bottom down to the gel coat and put on 3 coats of Interlux Micron on my 11 year old Sabre. Before having them do the work I talked with tech support at Interlux. They told me NOT to use a barrier coat on a boat that has been in the water for any length of time. They said the hull will absorb moisture and the barrier coat will trap the already aborbed moisture causing the newly applied paint to fail.
Thanks for the info. My boat is older, and i''m having the old paint removed. How did you remove you old paint. Is the micron like vc17? Rob
