Signet Instruments

I sent my apparent wind indicator to Signet for repair/estimate. Turns out that the Mast head unit is shot and uneconomical to repair. Signets recommendation is to replace mast head unit for $460. and I get a 2 year warranty. Question: is it worth it since the display/processor is 17 years old? Signet, of course, claims that theirs is the superior unit.
