Schafer Roller Furling adjustment?

I had to remove the forestay while hauling my boat this week. The Schafer roller furling really sprung when I released it from the tang. When I went to reassemble it I tried all manners of loosen stays and tightening on jib halyard (temporay stay) but the only way to fit it back together was to thread out about 2" of the attachment rod on the furler. Now that it is reassembled I can see the mast is tilted back.

How do I thread the rod back in with the stay attached?

You really need to read and study your installation manual or hire a rigger. The furler is independent of the headstay, if something sprung when you pulled a pin then you pulled the wrong pin. Read the manual!!! If you don''t have one contact Schaefer.

The Schaefer RF foil and drum sections go over a regular normal wire forestay. Normally, there would be a turnbuckle at the bottom of the forestay that connects to a tang on the lower end. To access the turnbuckle, it is necessary to loosen a set screw to allow the drum to slide up on the foil. Refer to the Schaefer manual for location of the set screw. Good luck.
