True, but lets see YOU build a cabin table with an angle grinder.

By the way, my angle grinders are way up the "most used" list.

SloopJonB, you've lost your mind

The Dremel tool club makes the same flavored argument. A router's just a big specialized dremel tool. I think it's my least used power tool. It's the one I would sell first. It does all sorts of cool things... I don't generally need.

Actually, I just wanted to tell you you had lost your mind....

He who dies with the most toys wins. But then, of course, he's dead. I think they call that a Phyrric (sp?) victory.

Two year refit about 1 hour of routing

And about two hundred thousand of grinding and sanding

And a real man uses a 9" grinder

I would rather have the angle grinder, than a router myself.

Late to the thread but my favorite tool is my Makita impact driver/drill. Lithium battery, small, light weight. I use it to drill, drive screws, bolts, etc. I don't need someone on deck to hold the head of the machine screw while I'm down below tightening it. Of course, after reading this thread I have to buy a Dremel tool, a router, and a milling machine:-))

Glad my thread was able to inspire you. It's always a good time to buy a tool - I got so inspired by my own thread I went out and bought a new Rockwell pad sander - very nice and VERY smooth. Now my fingertips won't turn white when I sand my bulkheads.
